A Burgundy Look for the Fall - Post Election Inspiration
Hey guys,
I hope you are all doing great. I have been a M.I.A for a while. As you can imagine, it's been one crazy week since the election and and I needed some time to process my feelings. My main goal with this site is not just to share my fashion and travel posts with you guys but to always uplift you with an encouraging word. It is so hard to be encouraging to someone else when you are feeling discouraged. To be honest with you, I can't believe the level of hatred that has been displayed by so many people towards each other.
I beg to differ that Trump is the reason for all this - if people are coming out and showing their racism, it's not because of Trump, it's because they were already racist and hateful to begin with. Trump may have fueled the movement but he definitely can't be blamed for other people's actions - they just need an excuse to act out.
There are thousands of people protesting the president-elect and I completely understand where they are coming from. However, there's a fine line between protesting hate and in turn, displaying the same kind of hate towards the people that you are protesting against.
It seems far fetched but change starts with you and me. Imagine what difference it would make if one person decided that instead of hate, they would show love and kindness to people that don't even deserve it. If one person did that and many more followed suit, imagine what a significant impact that would have on this world. Making an impact does not have to be carried out on a grand scale. If you can choose to love and be kind to one person today, then you would have done your share part. Has someone ever done something nice to you and in turn, it made you want to be nice to someone else? Go on and change the world!
